Late last night Microsoft announced a new Xbox One S model, the 1TB Xbox One S All Digital Edition. As the name implies it will be all digital, forgoing the physical disc drive, giving it a smaller model size and a lower price of $250 to follow. The console will include copies of Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3 with a release date of May 6th, 2019. Xbox announced said model yesterday on Twitter with a link to the details. This marks the first all digital model and the cheapest model on the market.

Xbox One S All Digital Edition

All this sounds cool if you are looking for a cheaper Xbox and don’t care about Disc Based Games. Jump under the line for my quick opinion.

Hey ya’ll it’s me, Jason, the one that wrote that announcement up there! If you got this far that means you probably want my hot take. As cool as this edition sounds $50 doesn’t sound like a big enough discount when it’s keeping the 1TB. If I’m buying an all digital console a bigger hard drive seems needed, with games going from 20-100 gigs – looking at Red Dead 2 – it’ll fill up pretty fast. Another thing that may not be a big deal to some is Internet. Up here in the cold tundra called Alaska we don’t have the best internet, and unlimited is stupid expensive. So with my hot take over, whats yours?
